Gold Country, California

The route along CA Highway 49 is known as California's Gold Rush Country.  There are several small towns that have retained and restored the original buildings.  The highway also follows some breathtaking rivers and countryside.  

One interesting side trip we made was to the Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park.   It has a replica of an indian village.  

Moaning Cavern and California Cavern were wonderful places to see.  The formations are unbelievable. 

We learned a lot of history and enjoyed every minute of it.

Dice Tower East

Well, this is a rarity of a vacation as far as the Lewis Family is concerned.  There is nothing outdoorsy or campish about this one.  So why...
